Does anyone else every have times when one particular child is especially beloved? That's my Sammy right now. He could stay four for forever. (Wow...that was a lot of "for"s!)
He's got the bug that Henry had. Thankfully, Henry is back to full capacity cuteness but Sammy has suffered in an altogether different way. He hasn't hardly cried and other than the heavy tread from couch to toilet...I haven't hardly known he's sick. I'm sure a lot of it is his age and ability to talk.
I think he had to go sit on the toilet about 25 times yesterday. Today, he woke up hungry and irritable so I gave him some toast which he threw up. He felt so bad about it. I was in the shower upstairs (yeah, yeah...still working on the bathroom) and when I turned the water off I heard him crying downstairs. I hustled downstairs and he was standing next to the toilet with throw up all over the seat, the floor and his pajamas.
I told him he was such a big boy for trying to get to the toilet and he just kept saying sorry about the mess with big crocodile tears in his eyes. Even his glasses fogged up. As soon as I got him and the toilet all cleaned up, he was totally back to normal. I asked him how he felt and he responded,
"A little good"
I love his expressions. So much more positive than "Not bad" or "kind of sick". It's probably just his limited vocabulary but it endeared him to me.
My day has been a little good too.

So sweet. It's the middle child syndrome, they are always awesome!(I'm a middle.)
I have a friend with five kids, she said you have to keep having them so you always have one who is sweet at any given time!
Hope he is the last to fall and everyone is back to healthy soon.
Sammy is at such a great age. Independent enough to be adorable. I melted at the part about his glasses fogging up. What a cute sammy quote too. Hopefully he will feel better soon.

And yes, I have times when one child is more favored than the others. Right now Natalie is my "star child." :) That sounds terrible doesn't it? But I won't say it in front of the other kids, I do love them, too!
Sammy is so adorable! I can just picture his glasses a little foggy. Hope he feels better soon and glad that Henry is back to being his adorable self!
Poor Sammy! It is so sad when they get sick like that. They look so confused about what is happening to their poor little bodies. Take care!
Ohh poor Sammy! I can see why you are so endeared to him. He sounds like such a sweetie. My Kyle (6) is a lot like that too!
My kids constantly warm my heart even when they do things like wake me up at 6:40 am by playing the recorder on the first morning of Spring Break when we can all sleep in!!
I LOVED hanging out with your boys last week. They are such sweet little guys. It makes me sad to think of them being so sick.
Jared is a good sick one too. He doesn't complain much. I REALLY hope you guys get over this terrible bug. Bug and illness be gone!!

my ellie is 4 and it is a sweet age to be sure. the sayings are terrific. one of her classics is "a few more whiles" (a little while longer)
