Looks Like a Two-Peat

If any of you thought I was in any danger of losing my Mother-Of-The-Year Award, ne'er fret. It's not going anywhere while this turkey is under my roof.

If you've got a hankering for Tillamook cheese and Mom's in the shower, what's a boy to do?

He is hilarious, you are a saint.

But I would so much prefer an independent child than not.

Mya has done this- and there was no way I was going to leave photographic evidence! You are a fantastically brave and honest woman.

And I second Kelly- an independent child is much preferred to me over the kid that will sit by the bathroom door crying for some cheese...just sayin'.

Every man needs a knife and some cheese. Henry's well on his way, so that makes you a clear winner!

The knife in the mouth is killing me. Too funny!

Someone's asked, "Weren't you more concerned about getting the knife out of his hands (and mouth) than taking pictures?"

Of course, that should have been my priority, but here's the real confession. This is not the first time this has happened. I think I was less startled because the last time, it was with a much larger butcher knife.

Henry is quite adept with knives. I shouldn't know this....he shouldn't know this, but experience has numbed both of us. He never cuts himself. I'm not saying he never will, and I'll continue to enforce the normal rules of parenting and take sharp objects out of his hands, but Jay and I have joked that Henry lives life in a protective bubble. The stunts he pulls, it's amazing that he continues to thrive, unscathed.
