I haven't finished my four essentials. I'm feeling a bit lackluster today. I'm sure finishing my essentials would help. I'll just blame doing this meme that Kelly A did (because it looks fun) on a weak moment.
My roommates and I once: went dancing at the Edge. Oh..wait....that was more than once. It was more like every single Wednesday and Friday night. And a lot of Saturday nights too. We weren't very original. But we were on a first name basis with the security door guy.
Never in my life have I: thought Rod Stewart was a good looking man.
High school was: Busy. I was constantly padding my college application resume. Student council, music, sports, clubs, church, work, and of course, trying to get good grades. But it was probably the best time of my life too. I had great friends.
When I’m nervous: my toes tingle. And I get cranky.
My hair: is fine and somewhat naturally curly. And oily. But it covers my head...so I can't give it too hard a time.
When I was 5: went to Disneyland for the first and only time.
When I turn my head left: I see laundry. Always, always laundry.
I should be: exercising. Or cleaning my kitchen. Or vacuuming the upstairs. Or cleaning bathrooms. (I've done two of my four essentials...but I'm kind of having an off day...hence the reason for the meme post).
By this time next year: I will be married to a man who is finally what he wants to be when he grows up.
You know I like you if: I ask you questions. If I don't like you, I don't really care.
My ideal breakfast is: A skillet breakfast with eggs and red potatoes and onions and ham and green peppers and cheese. Yummy.
If you visit my home town: You'll probably ride the Tour Train. And learn that because there were so many millionaires who had built mansions due to the gold rush, it actually had electricity before New York City.
Just some of the many mansions. I don't know why they took the pictures in early spring. It's much prettier with leaves on the trees. If you spend the night at my house: you will have your own bedroom, and a soft bed with a memory foam topper. Tempting?
The animal I would like to see flying besides birds: Humans, of course. We've got to do something about Global Warming and flying seems to be the answer.
I shouldn’t have been: afraid to try new things. I'm going to start trying new things!
Last night I: couldn't sleep. At all. So I snuck out of bed at midnight and read until 2:30 in the morning finishing Goose Girl and am really tired today. I wonder if that has something to do with my sluggish mood.
A better name for me would be: not Diana, although I really, really wanted to get it legally changed to Diana when I was in seventh grade. My dad even pretended he was willing to do the paperwork, him being a lawyer and all. I don't know why I really wanted Diana. But it seemed so much better than Lucy. Oh...and the name I chose for myself in French class was Vivienne. I said, "Je m'appelle Vivienne" a lot. Apparently, I wanted to be a sexy forty year old when I was 13.
I’ve been told I look like: my sisters. And pretty much somebody everyone knows. When I was younger and thinner and when she was a big star, I got told I looked like Julia Roberts a lot. And occasionally Elizabeth Shue. But...let's just say it's been awhile since I've heard that one.
If I could have any car, it would be: a BMW. I've always wanted a sporty BMW. I don't know why. And it would be black. And I would probably get lots of speeding tickets.
Ahhh... I feel better now.

What a fun post! ;-)
So you choose Vivienne for your french name. I think you didn't want to be like a 40 years old woman but much like a 70 years old !! So funny!!
I really like your post.
70 year old woman, Har! We could be friends! Golden Girls!
I'm with you on the Rod Stewart, but you happened to find the grossest photo of them all.
And I have always thought the Elizabeth Shue too.
I am gagging at that Rod Stewart photo. I think he is pretty UGLEY however, you seemed to have found the worst one.
Hey, and I am tempted. If I could only get myself on a vacation I am there!!
Get some rest tonight. I am quite sluggish myself today.
What a fun list about you. Do you remember me telling you that I thought you looked like Elizabeth Shue the first time we really talked? It was at the park for a little church gathering. And, yes, you still look like her-just beautiful. That Rod photo is just wrong. What is he wearing?
That was sure fun to read. Lots of interesting tidbits.
I completely agree with the breakfast skillet sentiment. But, to truly be the perfect breakfast, it would need to be served with a stack of pancakes!
hey lucy that skillet sounds really good right now...fun post.!
that rod stewart pic should have carried a warning!! eek!
Fun post...makes me nostalgic for Helena. I haven't been for over a year and I miss it! I love those houses. How did you find that awful pic of Rod Stewart. I'd have to agree that it's probably one of the worst. Hope your feeling more productive today. Wednesdays are always hard to get through.
You all seem to think that finding that picture of Rod Stewart must have been like finding a needle in a haystack. No. Page one on a google search. Bad pictures of him are EASILY found. Because....he. is. not. a. good. looking. man:)
Rod Stewart is frightening. Kinda glad I missed that whole time frame of pining after him.
I can totally see the Elizabeth Shue/Julia Roberts similarities. Totally! Especially Elizabeth Shue, wow.
I didn't know Jay was going to be an MRI guy- that is cool. Those things are crazy what they can do.
I love looking at the mansions from home, that black and white one I've actually been in, you probably have too?! You will always be way prettier that J.R!
seriously, on the rod stewart pic.yuck!
loved hearing (reading)more about you, especially with some lucy wit thrown in there! :)
I can totally see the Elisabeth Shue thing... I think she's gorgeous!
I can also totally see the Rod Stewart thing... I think he's totally not gorgeous.
Lucy, you're always amusing, I'm looking forward to seeing you at the Blogging Brunch next week, but now I'm afraid that you won't ask me any questions.
Growing up I also wished my name was Diana, but I also went through phases of wishing it was Donna, Tammy, or Joan, but now I'm glad my name is Jill.
I forgot to add that when I took French as a freshman in high school I was Michelle because Jill doesn't translate. So I was constantly saying Je m'appelle Meshelle, j'ai quatorze ans.
