My blog is set up as my home page. I can check for comments or click on over to other blogs for a quick read. It works well for me. Unless I have four big green turtles smiling back at me. Just now, I clicked onto the internet and saw that annoying, huge picture of turtles and had to bump it down. Those turtles might have saved the day yesterday, but it doesn't mean I want to look at them.
I have nothing really to add today. Just some updates on the day. Um...it's dang hot here. Jay had the crazy idea to take the kids on a geocache (which is HUGE here. Did someone in Utah invent this hobby???) in 90+ degree weather (before it reached a whopping 102). Out of five stars, it only had 1 and 1/2 for difficulty so we thought it'd be something quick and fun for the boys that would get them out of the house for a while. We didn't want to burn up all our pool capital the first day, you know?
It wasn't a very good one. It was on a very narrow bike path that had two chain link fences on either side. No shade at all. After about a half hour, we still couldn't find it, and the sun was scorching. I wish we could have found it (it was a micro cache so we were looking for a small pill bottle) because I think we could have convinced the boys that we really did have fun. But, without the treasure, everyone got grumpy real fast, including me, and we left kind of disgusted with ourselves. What were we thinking taking six boys out in the blazing heat on a geeky scavenger hunt? As we walked back to the car, the thought crossed my mind that this was the kind of weather the pioneers walked in. My gratitude and reverence deepened.
After that mess, we DID take them swimming. Clearly, the more appropriate outing on a hot summer day. After swimming, Jay took the four oldest boys to watch car races. The sisters and the babies made the trek to Utah County for a little Los Hermanos. I haven't eaten there for five years and the memories came flooding back. Muy delicioso! I have been reluctant to venture very far away from my little shopping haven nearby, but I'd say the trek was worth it.
I'm just going to add one more sentence to make extra sure, that picture is far enough down so that I'd have to scroll to see it.
That should do it.

Awesome post! Very clever, as usual. Sorry about the lousy geo-caching. Good idea, though. We just got back from the lake and your blog was the first thing I checked. Jen wasted no time getting down there to see you. I bet you are having such a great time and that the kids are having a blast with their cousins. Keep cool. It was over 100 degrees all week and we loved it, although I'm ready for some cooler temperatures.
Los Hermanos. YUmmy!!!! I know Jen love that. So sorry about the heat. Not fun at all.

There is a family in our ward that is very big on geocaching. I had never heard of it until they told me about it about a year ago.
Fun to venture out to Provo....and you didn't go to Brick Oven?? Maybe next time.
Lucy, this cracked me up...I've done that before where I had some picture of some words that I just needed to bump because I was sick of seeing them. And it's those times when I can think of nothing to post about.
Wow...Geo caching! My kids are dying to go and do that. Too bad you didn't find the cache!! Maybe next time.

Kameron is into the TMNT's too and it is mind-numbing especially since I've already suffered throught it the first time around with Kirk...wow...I'm old!
Am I the only female adult TMNT fan in town? I have such fond memories of watching that movie (the real action one) with my brothers that I am immune to its annoyances. I still laugh at my skateboarding, pizza munching, shelled friends.
I've never being geo cacheing. I guess it could be fun - but I would definitely be the one who couldn't find it either. Nice recovery with the pool.

Ha! I have had posts I didn't want to keep looking at. I have never been geocaching but at least I know what it is. Have you ever done letterboxing? Not going to explain - google it.
We love geocaching and yes it is huge here! It is fun though we do not do it often, but the kids love to leave something behind and they always hope to find a great treasure too! :)

Mmm, Los Hermanos. It's been awhile since we're been there, because they're always so PACKED! Yum.
Lucy, I have some great geocaches for your kids and a really cool one for you and jay too. We could go in an evening when we're not all melting. And 2 of them are in parks. Matt always checks one when we go there! It will cool off, in fact, soon it will be winter and you'll get to experience the inversion. Woo hoo that's a fun one! Kelly
Devin keeps promising the kids, but alas they are still waiting. Asa has actually found two of them on his own (tips from friends), but is still waiting to be registered. Only if his dad weren't such a procrastinator and his mom weren't so lazy.
