...and I'm pretty sure when I'll be back again. At least within a day or two.
I've decided to embark on another mammoth road trip a la last summer. I'll be gone almost as long but won't cover as much ground as I'm not planning on any detours to Canada or Mt. Rainier this year. Just a week with my sister's family in Washington state (and a few days with my brother's family who is coming over to say, "hi.") and a week in Montana visiting the land I love and the responsible parties who bestowed upon me the privilege of growing up there.
Add a few days here and there in Utah (school shopping, Temple open house, visiting friends and family) and a few days of driving through the lone and dreary world (but also spectacularly pretty at times) and I'm booked for three weeks!
It may appear that I am crazy to not only do this all by myself (Jay is opting out....again. Claims he has a job and stuff) but to it via minivan with three children ages nine and younger. But I have a secret. All three of my boys are excellent travelers and I love to drive. Oh, sure, I get bored at times, but factor in cost, flexibility, and freedom and driving beats flying almost every time. At least with kids.
I'm all ready to leave but my new camera hasn't arrived yet. I didn't think it was going to be here in time for my trip, so I had mentally decided to leave early this morning. When I checked my email, however, and clicked on the tracking package link, I discovered that the FedEx truck would be dropping off this very necessary trip accessory sometime today. So, I wait. And hope that it comes soon. Because I've got my traveling mojo.
Of course, I hope to blog a little along the way, but if not....
HAVE A FABULOUS JULY! (sorry about all the parenthetical comments. I can't help myself!)

Can't wait for you to get here...the kids are excited and we are ready for some Johnson fun! Hope your camera gets there soon!
I do think you are crazy!! But in a good way. What great memories your boys are going to have of hitting the open road with their mama!! Have a wonderful trip. I hope you're swinging through Spokane!?!
Have fun! How does the Irish Blessing go? "May the roads rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back..." I hope you have a wonderful time.
You are a brave woman... and a super fun mom! Those boys are going to have some fantastic memories.
I'm amazed that you are attempting this again. It's a good thing for us that you like to drive. I am 100% positive that I wouldn't be able to make a solo trip like this...you're amazing!
Too bad you aren't already here and we there for SYTYCD. We'll just have to talk about it when I get there.
I just think you're awesome. And wish I were equally so...
OK, so next summer you are making a side trip to California.....the coast, the mountains....it can't be beat, it's only a few extra miles and we would have so much fun. AND we'll watch TV with you anytime, I totally agree with you regarding the "BUTT" dance....it was very sexy and appealing to me, maybe because it's my largest feature I want my husband to be attracted to it.....we'll also let you blog, relax, swim and BBQ. Have a great trip.
Fun!! I hope you have a safe, happy and fun trip.
If you're in Salt Lake and have an extra minute, give me a call. Hope your travels are safe and happy!
Have a great trip!
Keep us all posted on your progress! :)
I'm leaving soon for a 3-week-er myself. No husband. Just me and the 3 kids. Radiology wives unite!!
Just please don't leave without doing your SYTYCD recap!!
Have a great road trip!
You are crazy but I know you will have fun and your kids will be good for you. . .Hey, I wonder if we will be in Utah the same time. We will be there from the 18th to the 1st. Well, that last part will be in Wyoming but we would love to hook up for lunch again or something.
